My Ultimate Beauty Travel-Essentials

by - 01:41

We have a busy travel week coming up. We travel to Germany for four days. Then we come back and then drive up to Birmingham over the weekend. So we will be busy traveling, with just one day to un- and repack our backs and set off. Don't get me wrong! I am really looking forward to it. I'll be seeing my family again. And I am really looking forward to a road trip with my husband. But, it does call for preparation and planning. So, I thought of taking you through the process of how I pack for a long weekend away. Ideally, without overpacking, because we fly Ryanair carry-on. I mean, there won't be much of a beauty bag. But, there are essentials that should be on every girl's list. And today I start with my beauty bag.

Skin Care

I only really started to pack a little skincare regiment. I usually only packed my makeup and some makeup remover. But, I have dry skin and I realized that no matter how much makeup I put on, it won't look good. So, in summer  I got a travel-sized kit of my favorite skincare from Clinique. And I don't regret the splurge because it works for my skin. I can save on everything else. I don't care about shampoo or shower gel, for a long weekend. But, I need the right skincare.  Otherwise, I just don't feel comfortable with makeup. It feels greasy and dries my skin out even more.

I am a bit of a makeup addict. So, deciding on what to pack is a bit of a struggle. I just recently bought the new Rimmel 25 hours Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation, which I am currently testing out. On the other hand, there is the Maybelline FitMe Liquid Foundation, which I use for quite some time now. I can't pack both because I already know I only really use one.
And I decided for the Rimmel Foundation. It's a light foundation and I don't think, I will need a longlasting evening makeup. And for some rouge and bronzer, I pack the KIKO Smart Blush and Bronzer Palette because its compact. It's just one instead of two. If it breaks, I won't cry about it.

Know your style
And then, it's also just sticking to my standard style. I do have bright red lipsticks and lipglosses. However, I am 99% sure, I won't use them. I am more of a eyeshadow, eyeliner and, mascara girl. So, I will pack a trial size of the Clinique High Impact Mascara, which I got with buying my skincare.
I will pack the Eyeko Eye Do Eyeliner and the NYX Wicked Dreams Eyeshadow Palette.
To be honest, I am not too fuzzy about mascara as long as it does its job. I'll take the Clinique one because it's a small size and I can fit in other more important stuff.
I pack the NYX Eyeshadow Palette because I like the variety and again it's one box. It's compact.
I would always go for a Palette to travel because it is more compact.

In the end, I would say, find a version of the products you like. Because chances are they might break during travel. Get travel-sizes of the products you love, because they will enhance your holiday feeling.

I hope you liked my little insight into my travel bag. Next, I will post some travel hacks for a smooth plane journey. What is in your travel beauty bags? Do you have any tips? Let me know in the comments!
